The event

A total solar eclipse over the Mediterranean, the first in Spain since 1905

On 12 August 2026, Mallorca will witness a total solar eclipse. As the afternoon fades into evening, the moon will slide fully in front of the sun and blot it out for about 1 minute and 36 seconds, turning day into dusk over the sky and the sea.

It happens close to sunset, so the eclipse and the golden hour line up into one of the most photogenic skies you will ever see over the island.

It is the kind of moment people travel across the world for. This time it is happening right here, off the coast of Mallorca. The only real question is where you will be watching from.
