Sa Calma Boats announces the arrival in Mallorca of its new state-of-the-art catamaran, a project that marks a turning point in the way nautical tourism is understood in the Balearic Islands. The vessel, entirely built in Spain and designed in Mallorca, is born from a local perspective of the sea, its environment and the island’s unique way of sailing, integrating innovation, sustainability and a clear premium vision.
The new catamaran is part of the Blue Tourism project, an initiative that proposes a different way of experiencing the sea, based on respect for the environment and knowledge of the Mediterranean. On board, passengers not only explore the Mallorcan coastline, but also take part in a marine education program developed together with Asociación Vellmari and designed by National Geographic educators, bringing passengers closer to marine biodiversity, the protection of marine reserves and the importance of preserving the environment they enjoy on every excursion.
In line with this commitment, the vessel features environmental certifications, energy efficiency systems and an operational design aimed at minimizing environmental impact. It incorporates low-emission engines, hybrid propulsion and alternative energy sources such as sailing navigation, optimizing fuel consumption while offering a quieter and more authentic experience. In contrast to mass tourism models, this project embraces conscious navigation, with controlled capacity and spacious areas, prioritizing quality of experience and respect for the destination.
The Saona catamaran is divided into three clearly differentiated areas, designed to offer different ways to enjoy the sea and Mallorca:
• Sky VIP Lounge: an exclusive area on the upper deck, designed for relaxation and privacy.
• Premium Terrace: a spacious terrace with tables and onboard service, ideal for enjoying navigation in a social and relaxed atmosphere.
• General Access: a comfortable and open area, in direct contact with the sea.
This layout allows guests to experience sailing in a relaxed, exclusive and uncrowded way, aligning with a premium tourism model that values time, space and the authenticity of the destination visited.
